Live in LA: André Manoukian

French songwriter and jazz pianist André Manoukian is a Armenio-Cosmic Jazzman from Lyon. He will be playing live at the Globe Theatre in Los Angeles for one night only on February 20, 2019.

Manoukian is an accomplished film score composer and musical guru who became famous as a member of the jury in the national hit TV-show, "La nouvelle star" (the French version of American Idol). With his intricate understanding and depiction of music, musical theory, and history, Manoukian still appears in many national TV and radio shows.

Manoukian is fascinated with voices and he has dedicated part of his career to working with singers. Since returning to his Armenian musical roots, the piano, and jazz, he has begun to merge the musical worlds of the East and the West.

With a combination of Eastern and Western music, this event features special guest Jivan Gasparyan Jr., who is recognized as the most accomplished and influential musician in the history of the duduk. The duduk is an ancient double-reed woodwind instrument made of apricot wood that was inscribed by UNESCO in 2008, after having proclaimed the Armenian duduk and its music as a Masterpiece of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2005.
