2020 IFP Week x French in Motion: Selected Projects Unveiled

As part of the US & French Connection program, FRENCH IN MOTION and IFP (Independent Filmmaker Project) announced the four projects selected for the 2020 IFP Week, which will be held virtually from September 20 to 25. This program, supported by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in the US, is conducted in partnership with Series Mania, the Centre national du cinéma et de l’image animée (CNC) and the Banque Transatlantique.

Founded in 1979, IFP Week is a pillar of East Coast independent filmmaking and the only international co-production market in the United States. Every year, key players of the US entertainment industry (HBO, Amazon, Netflix, Warner, Sony) gather on the East Coast to meet the rising stars of American and international film and audiovisual creation. Barry Jenkins, Denis Villeneuve, Richard Linklater, Laura Poitras, are among those who have participated.

With US & French Connection, their annual bilateral program, French In Motion and IFP have been working to bring together creators and talents from both sides of the Atlantic since 2016.

The four projects selected for this new edition, and whose producers and directors will be present at the Virtual IFP Film Week are the following:

Joro - Narrative TV Serie

The Plot: What if the animals decided to recover what is rightfully theirs: the Earth? What if fate wanted this mission to be led by four misfit animals in their teens ?
