Her last work Ten Lands is selected to the Currents New Media Festival at Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Currents New Media champions new media arts and supports artists in creating innovative work. The 2021 festival will be online, utilizing a new and highly interactive virtual platform: OhYay on which Ten Lands will be available. Virtual Festival opens noon MT, June 18th and open 24 hours a day until June 27th.
Ten Lands is a hybrid format that oscillates between an interactive video clip and a video game. Each level visually illustrates one of the ten ambient music tracks from Yatoni‘s latest album.
Ten Lands opens, in an underlying way, a double thinking that crosses both the video game industry and the music industry. This consideration takes place in times when the idea of sound resonates with difficulty in public places, at a time when gatherings are forbidden. It raises the question of new places and new ways of listening to music, far from clubs and concerts.
Other French artists will also present their projects at Currents New Media Festival:
- the 360° Video Baroque Moments on Fire by Anabela Costa
- the installation Ljós by Barthelemy Antoine
- The experimental documentary Yantra by Cedric Arnold
