French-US Bilateral Funds

French-US Bilateral Funds

When prestigious American universities partner with major French institutions and research centers.

What do University of California Berkeley, Stanford University, the University of Chicago, MIT, Columbia University, and the University of Texas at Austin all have in common? They are recipients of French-US Bilateral Funds.

Established in the early 1990s by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE), French-US Bilateral Funds are endowments devoted to select American universities to engage in scientific cooperation with French institutions.

These endowments now provide seed funding for promising research collaborations between French and American institutions, thereby cultivating long-lasting partnerships and the promotion of French research internationally.
