Apply to Host a Professional French Training in 2024

Are you a university or college French professor and interested in hosting professional trainings at your institution in 2024?

In today’s job market, fluency in French is increasingly useful and in demand. Job postings in the US calling for advanced French abilities increased by 135% from 2010 to 2015.

According to the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, French has now become the third most sought-after language in the American job market, making it a crucial language for students’ professional careers. However, this surge contrasts with a worrying trend: a decline in students studying French.

The Cultural Services of the French Embassy aims to provide professors with tools to bridge this gap through training opportunities. We are thrilled to announce the opening of applications to host  French for professional purposes workshops in 2024.

Overview

Delivered by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris, these workshops are designed for US professors eager to expand their skills and start teaching French classes to prepare their students for professional settings.

These workshops offer diverse themes:

Professional French (general course – a mix of all other topics)

Business French

French for Health

French for Tourism

French for International Relations

Whether you are already teaching a professional French class, wish to expand your course offerings, or are eager to start teaching a professional French course, this is a great opportunity. Aided by Embassy support, host campuses will oversee workshop communications and logistics (classrooms, schedules, etc.).

To apply, please fill out this form by January 21st.

Each workshop spans four days (24 hours total), scheduled between mid-May and the end of June to allow all professors to join.
