Professional French Training Opportunities

Do you teach French in a college or university?  Do you offer, or wish to offer, professional French courses in your department? These workshops are perfect for you!

The French Embassy, in cooperation with the Paris Ile-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is offering four workshops in French for professional purposes. These courses are hands-on training sessions designed to help professors improve their skills in developing a course in French for Professions or French for Tourism and Hospitality.

Professors, associate professors, assistant professors, lecturers, and Ph.D. students willing to implement a curriculum in professional French in their university are invited to send their application to one or multiple of the below workshops by April 18, 2024.

Content of the workshops

The workshops are all held in French and the maximum number of participants per workshop is 20. They will be composed of:

  • 6 hours of asynchronous online modules,
  • Several hours of guided individual work,
  • In-person 24-hour workshop (6 hours per day for 4 days) at one of the above-mentioned universities.

Throughout the workshops, group activities will be offered to participants in order to concretize the theoretical aspects of the process.

At the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • Learn about the specifics of professional French,
  • Analyze an audience and establish benchmarks for language skills,
  • Build a training program in professional French,
  • Design and lead a session in professional French,
  • Evaluate the achievements of their learners in professional French.
