Focus Art Contemporary In Nyc Galleries / September-october

Every two months, Dorothée Charles, Visual Arts, Architecture & Design Officer at the French Cultural Services, offers a selection of must-see exhibitions at galleries and non-profit spaces around New York.

Among the many shows listed below, make sure you don't miss the colorful sculptural collaborations between Polish artist Agnieszka Kurant and a hive of termites at Tanya Bonakdar Gallery.

Also not to be missed are editor and artist Hansjörg Mayer's striking, experimental sixties and seventies publications, which are just some of the bibliophilic pleasures to explore at The Library Vaccine at Artist Space Books and Talks.

Sit, watch and listen to the performance of the conceptual artists Danh Vo and Xiu Xiu (Jamie Stewart, Shayna Dunkelman, and Ches Smith) at The Kitchen where two gold pounders from Thailand and percussionists generate a musical composition that is rhythmic, punk and melodic at the same time.
